1. The doors need a second to think about it
The flush door handles and power-assisted doors have a slight delay compared to a normal car door. Rushed passengers sometimes assume the door is stuck. It isn't — give it a moment.
2. Charging etiquette at busy Superchargers matters more
The Cybertruck draws attention at charging stations, which means more people stopping to ask questions or take photos while you're charging. Budget a little extra time if you're on a schedule.
3. Steering feels different at low speed
Steer-by-wire with a variable ratio means tight parking-lot turns take noticeably less wheel input than you're used to. Most renters adjust within a few minutes, but it's worth practicing in an empty lot before city driving.
4. The bed cover is powered — don't force it
The tonneau cover retracts electronically. Trying to manually force it open or closed is the single most common cause of host damage disputes. Use the app or interior controls.
5. Mileage caps sneak up on road trips
It's easy to underestimate daily mileage on a multi-city trip. Check your planned route against the listing's daily cap before you book, not after you're already over it.
